E-waste Treatment and Metal Recovery using Electrolysis
The E-waste Treatment and Metal Recovery using Electrolysis project aims to reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste by recovering valuable metals like copper and gold through an electrochemical process. The method involves dismantling electronic components, extracting metals into a solution using chemical processes, and then using electrolysis to recover pure metal deposits in a sustainable and efficient manner.
In this project, I was responsible for the safe handling and dismantling of e-waste materials, as well as separating metal-containing components from circuit boards. I also contributed to the design of the experimental setup, including the placement of electrodes and power supply arrangement for effective electrolysis. This role helped me gain practical knowledge of material recovery, waste management, and lab safety practices.
